José R. González-Nogueras

Mr. González’s practice consists of counseling clients as well as federal and state litigation in several areas.

Mr. González represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Antidiscrimination Unit and defending employers sued under various federal and state laws, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Employee Retirement and Income Security Act, and other employment laws and regulations. He represents employers in collective bargaining proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and in labor arbitrations proceedings. Mr. González regularly provides training and counseling to supervisors concerning compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations, prevention of discrimination and retaliation claims and union avoidance.

Before studying law, Mr. González worked for Mobil Oil Corporation at an oil refinery as Design Engineer and Process Support Engineer. In Law School, Mr. González served as Associate Editor for the Interamerican University Law Review and Author of the Article: “La Causalidad en Casos de Epidemias Ambientales Producidas por Contaminación Atmosférica”, Interamerican University Law Review, Vol 31, No. 2.

Since 2004, Mr. González has served as Associate Judge for the Sports Arbitration and Appeals Court of the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee. Mr. González has also served in several positions for the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Chapter and the Section on Labor and Employment Law of the Federal Bar Association.
